NEET (UG) Exam Pattern
The test pattern of NEET (UG) has been structured to include four subjects. Each subject is divided into two sections. Section A contains 35 questions that all candidates must attempt. Section B includes 15 questions, from which candidates have the flexibility to choose and answer any 10 questions. This design ensures that the total number of questions attempted and the time allocation remains consistent across all test-takers.
For the NEET (UG) 2025 Examination, which determines admissions for the 2025-26 academic session, the pattern follows this same structure. This format allows candidates to showcase their knowledge while having some choice in the questions they answer in Section B. The selective nature of Section B gives students an opportunity to focus on their areas of strength, potentially improving their overall performance on the examination. It’s important for candidates to understand this pattern clearly to develop an effective exam strategy, particularly for managing their time during the test.
Subject | MCQs | Marks |
---|---|---|
Physics | 45 | 180 |
Chemistry | 45 | 180 |
Biology (Botany & Zoology) | 90 | 360 |
