RRB Section Controller Recruitment 2025
The Government of India, Ministry of Railways, through the Railway Recruitment Boards (RRB), has released the Centralised Employment Notice (CEN) No. 04/2025 for the recruitment of Section Controller posts. This recruitment aims to fill a total of 368 vacancies across various railway zones in India.
Eligible and interested candidates can apply for these vacancies through the official websites of RRB. The online application process is commenced on 15 September 2025 and the last date for submission is 14 October 2025.
RRB SC Recruitment Details

Pay Scale/Salary: The post of Section Controller is under Pay Level 6 of the 7th CPC Pay Matrix, with an initial pay of ₹35,400 per month, plus other allowances as admissible.
Educational Qualification: Candidates must possess a Graduate Degree from a recognized University or its equivalent. Candidates awaiting the final results of their prescribed educational qualification are not eligible to apply.
Age Limit: Candidates must be between 18 and 33 years of age as of 1st January 2025.
Age Relaxation: The upper age relaxation will be 3 years for OBC candidates, 5 years for SC/ST candidates and 10 years for PwBD candidates.
RRB Examination Fee
Examination Fee: Candidates belonging to PwBD, Female, Transgender, Ex-Servicemen, SC, ST, Minority Communities, and Economically Backward Classes must pay an examination fee of ₹250/-. All other candidates must pay ₹500/- as the examination fee.
Refund of Fee: Candidates belonging to PwBD, Female, Transgender, Ex-Servicemen, SC, ST, Minority Communities, and Economically Backward Classes will receive a full refund of ₹250/- after the examination. All other candidates who paid ₹500/- will receive a refund of ₹400/- after the examination.
Mode of Payment: Candidates can pay their examination fee using online payment methods such as Credit or Debit Card, Net Banking, and UPI. No other modes of payment will be accepted.
RRB Selection Process
The recruitment process for the Section Controller post will consist of the following stages:
Stage 1: Single Stage Computer Based Test (CBT): This test will have 100 objective-type questions to be answered in 120 minutes. There will be a negative marking of 1/3rd for each wrong answer.
Stage 2: Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT): Candidates equal to 8 times the number of vacancies will be shortlisted for the CBAT based on their performance in the CBT. There is no negative marking in the CBAT.
Stage 3: Document Verification (DV): Candidates will be called for DV based on the combined merit of CBT (70% weightage) and CBAT (30% weightage).
Stage 4: Medical Examination: Candidates who clear the DV will undergo a medical examination to ensure they meet the A-2 medical standard.
